Description:
Original Antique Peabody Breech Loading Saddle Ring Carbine in excellent plus condition ( being conservative as 98% of sellers would call it Mint) - vivid case hardening, ORIGINAL finish, all matching, not import marked, no rust or pitting on metal, no cracks on grips, great bore, functions fine.
WC cartouche on the stock. Caliber is 50 with 20” round barrel.
Still has wonderful case hardening on the buttplate.
These were originally developed during the US Civil War, but manufacturing started kind of  late for significant service in the American Civil War, so the Peabody carbine was mostly purchased by the Canadian, French, Mexican and Spanish governments. They were manufactured by the Providence Tool Company, of Providence, RI between 1866 and 1871.
I'm not a dealer. I'm a private collector and I'm currently thinning out my collection.
3-12 months layaway is available.
I accept USPS  money order, bank or personal checks, but due to the POLICY OF MY BANK it takes UP TO 5 business days from the day of the deposit for them to clear.
$4450 OBO
