REMINGTON AUTOLOADING 12 GA. FULL CHOKE SHOTGUN. Serial number 77599 was manufactured in 1910 under Browning patent and contract. Being a 1910 production, it is a PRE-MODEL 11 that was updated and named the Model 11 in 1911. This is a good quality 12 ga., 28 in. ribbed (elevated, not vented) barrel, Full choke, chambered for cartridge up to 2 ¾ in., walnut stock with plain rounded pistol grip, and safety inside the trigger guard before trigger. Approx. 92,000 mfg. total. It is the same as early model Browning A5 shotguns as it was produced under contract and the patent of Brown. The left side barrel shotgun markings are: \"Manufactured by the Remington Arms Co. Ilion, NY USA Browning‚‚s Patents Oct 9.1900, Dec 17.1901, Sept 30.1902, June 16.1903\". The right side barrel markings are \"RP\" for Remington Proof. There are many marks, dings, dents, and wood scratches. The rubber buttpad is in poor condition. There is a small hairline .75 inch (3/4\") crack on the rights side wood from tang. Functions well for a very cool piece of firearm history. It is a classic design from the master John Moses Browning. The receiver is machined from a solid steel drop forging and a patent extended to Remington in a rare contract between competitors. This is a very cool historical early semi-auto (autoloading) shotgun of American manufacturing history back when solid wood and good steel made firearms that were meant to last for generations
