Description:
Browning Pointer Grade 20 gauge Superposed O/U shotgun. Circa 1964 the Pointer Grade is often regarded as one of the most collectible of the graded Browning shotguns. It was designed to be more embellished than the Pigeon and a little less embellished than the Diana and the Pointer never really caught on! Seems as though a grade between the Pigeon and the Diana just wasn’t necessary, consequently sales and production were very limited. So now, because of their scarcity, the Pointer grade guns are very desirable and the simple fact that they are very good looking!
This gun was made with more desirable of the two-barrel lengths, the 28”, and it is choked Sk/SK as were many; with the narrow field style ventilated rib. NOTE: That choke configuration is not only perfect for Skeet shooting but it is also ideal for upland bird hunting.
The beautifully engraved receiver was done by not other than Browning engraver, Gaston Vandermissen. Look closely at his masterful work.
All finishes are original and overall 98%+. The very handsome long tang, round knob buttstock has a standard LOP of 14 ¼”; slightly higher than normal “drop” dimensions of, 1 7/16” DAC, and 2” DAH and neutral cast. The gun weighs 6 lbs. 6 oz. 98%+ overall condition and cased in a correct period Browning luggage case by Airways.
