HIGH CONDITION STEVENS IDEAL MODERN RANGE MODEL No. 47 .22 LONG RIFLE, MADE ON THE DESIRABLE STRONG 44 1/2 ACTION, #3XXX, MADE 1896-1916. This one is a little unusual as it has a special order long 28" half octagon barrel while standard length for rim fire cartridges was 26." The barrel retains the correct Beach combination folding globe front sight with buckhorn rear sight with elevator bar intact- does not appear to have ever had a tang sight. Excellent deep barrel blue and exc. markings. The receiver shows fine case color that is only lightly thinning on the forward portion of the right side. Correct full loop lever and pistol grip with Swiss butt plate. Good case color remains on the lever sides and protected areas as well as on the butt plate. The stock and forend are excellent and retain nearly all the wood finish. Tight action with excellent bore. Matching numbers on the receiver, barrel and forend. About as nice as one could hope to find.
