Description:
Selling a very nice, pristine Marlin 1894C in .357/38 caliber. The barrel is stamped New Haven, CT, the serial number is on the left side of the receiver with no JM marks anywhere on the tang or receiver. The the barrel is 18". The rifle is in excellent condition with front and rear sights, including the hood. The receiver plug screws are in place (for mounting a scope base). The wood is 99.9% --two very tiny side x side dings on left heel of the butt as shown in that picture. The metal is 100%. The rifle function perfectly. Amazingly light recoil and good accuracy. Rifle has been safe stored.
A fellow knowledgeable about the Marlin/Remington switch over suggests the following regarding the markings or lack there of on my rifle.?
"I speculate that your receiver, serialized in 2009, was not assembled into a complete rifle in North Haven until November 2010 and that the barrel used was made after Remington management changed the barrel markings removing the JM reference."
