This a rare and desirable Colt 1911A1 that was manufactured in 1939 and issued to the U.S. Navy. Roughly 3,500 total 1911A1s were produced for the armed forces in 1939, with all going to the Navy. This pistol is all matching and correct, with about 75-80% of the gorgeous and famed Colt brushed blue remaining. The profile view is very nice with only minor edge wear, but the front strap is thin throughout and there's additional finish loss on the trigger guard. The slide is numbered and matching to the frame. Proper Colt barrel with 'G' under the lug. The rifle is fair but there is some pitting throughout. Excellent and correct wood grips. Commercial Colt magazine though.
