Mid-1800s FOWLING PIECE
Here we present an antique Double Barrel Percussion Side by Side Shotgun, made circa the 1850s in Belgium. This double barrel hammer gun would have been used for putting game on the table and protecting the homestead. This is a nice fowling piece that is elegant with its engravings and in its simplicity and practicality.
The overall condition is good. Original patina. The actions are excellent. The bores are smooth and patinated. The stock shows use and wear. There was once a sling stud behind the trigger guard. There is a small repair visible under the left lock plate; otherwise solid. Liege proofs on barrels.
