Description: This 1962 classic world-famous Austrian-made bolt action rifle is a Mannlicher Schönauer Model 1961-MCA Carbine chambered in .30-06 Springfield. It has the full length Mannlicher European thin-shell walnut wood stock with diamond checkering on the fore arm and the pistol grip, a Schönauer rotary magazine, it has the optional "double-set" trigger mechanism, a swept back butterknife bolt handle, and a modest Monte Carlo comb, designed for use with both iron and telescopic sights. MCA Carbines have two completely independent safeties. The first is a traditional wing safety at the rear end of the bolt that locks the striker. The second safety is engaged by a slider mounted on the top tang and works well with low-mounted riflescopes. The iron sights consist of a hooded, ramp front sight and a two-leaf, open rear sight with a "U" shaped notch. The shorter leaf was supposed to be regulated for 100-200 yards and the taller (folding) leaf for 300 yards. Both sights are mounted in standard dovetails that can be drifted laterally to adjust for windage. The top of the front receiver ring and the front sight ramp are stippled to reduce glare. It comes with a Weaver K4 60-B riflescope mounted with a Griffin & Howe quick release mechanism and a Hunter Company full grain leather sling. This little carbine is well-balanced, easy to carry, fast to point and accurate. .30-06 Springfield SOLD Curio/Relic: Yes Metal Condition: High gloss polished bluing is in excellent with only minimal observable loss on some of the sharp edges Wood Condition: "The wood is in good condition, but does show some minimal handling marks and wear in places Bore Condition: Bore is bright and shiny with excellent rifling intact Barrels: 20" barrel Triggers: This has the more desirable optional double-set trigger mechanism Stock Dimensions: "13¾"" LOP, overall length 41¼"" Fore End: Full length stock with diamond checkered fore arm Butt Pad: "Hard serrated plastic butt plate with white spacer, pistol grip end is also hard plastic with white spacer Weight: 8 lbs 8 oz Sights: "Hooded brass tapered blade fixed front sight, and a two-leaf, open rear sight with a ""U"" shaped notch Item Location: Wichita, KS |
