Description:
The Savage 99 with its rotary magazine was a step forward. In lever action rifles. The Rotary magazine allowed them to be chambered with modern spitzer pointed cartridges. The hammer less side ejecting action made mounting scopes easily possible. The .300 Savage cartridge was introduced in 1920. It would push a 150 grain bullet to speeds exceeding 2600 ft./second. With an effective range of over 300 yards, it is great cartridge for deer size big game. This Model 99 EG was manufactured in 1951. .300 Savage
