Here's a Excellent Example of a Winchester Model 1894 Rifle in 38-55 Caliber . All 1st Model 1894's where in 38-55 caliber . Serial number 991 . 26 " Octagon Barrel full magazine. All 1st Models have a 10 O'Clock Screw on right side of frame . Condition is Excellent with most of the original finish turning a blue Brown Smooth Patina ! Barrel flats and protected area on frame still shows solid blue finish still remaining. Markings are sharp. Original walnut stocks are in excellent original condition ! Wood to metal fit is Excellent .Un-touched wood . Bore has strong rifling and would rate a 7 1/2 . Very shootable . Mechanics are in excellent working order ! Gun comes with original sporting sight on front with ivory bead and rear sight is a Buckhorn adjustable sight . There was a factory folding sight on the rear tang . you can see solid bright blue finish still remaining under where sight was . Overall a excellent example of a 1sr model 1894 Winchester Rifle!
