Description:
Serial #55168, .38 S&W, 2" barrel with an excellent, bright bore. This is a handsome, ca. 1948-made revolver that has matching numbers on the frame, barrel, cylinder, yoke, and extractor. The metal retains 95-97% of the original blue finish, with some mild fading at the muzzle, and silvering along the high and exposed edges. The cylinder has a moderate turn-ring, and the hammer and trigger have a commensurate amount of the original color case-hardening remaining. The checkered, diamond-center grips are original and numbered to the gun on the interior. They exhibit some mild flattening of the points, on either side, with a small chip above the medallion on the right panel, and a short, with-the-grain crack above the medallion on the left. The lock-up is tight, and the revolver rates fine overall. FFL or C&R
