Description:
For sale is a nice early pre-war, pre-64 Model 70 Winchester "Transition" action with bottom metal. It is the standard 0.473 bolt face. The bolt handle may have been milled some for the scope. The receiver still retains a strong amout of the original blueing with a few minor stains that appear from the stock. There is thinning on the floorplate and trigger bow, but would clean up nicely when re-finished.
SN: 59910 (1946). The serial number on the bolt is faded and hard to see. In addition to the rear bridge being drilled for a scope mount, there are two additional holes that were previously drilled on the rear bridge and were plugged by the gunsmith. We do not know why they were drilled, but they would be hidden when rear scope mount installed. They are marked in off red color to show. All inquiries are welcome. FFL required. Shipping will be actual cost. No California sales.
