Description:
Offered is a Colt New Service revolver .45 with the 5 1/2” barrel that was shipped to the Georgia State Police in 1937. The gun includes a Colt factory letter stating it was sold to the Georgia State Police in a group of 30 guns. Bob Murphy had this to say about these in his book “Colt New Service Revolvers”. Nickel plated New Service guns continued to be scarce. An order nickel plated New Service 5 1/2” .45 Colts went to the Georgia State Police. They got rid of them in 1980. The guns were numbered in the 343,000-344,000 range. This guns serial number is: 343755. The letter states Blue finish ?? The nickel appears to be original. The condition shows use as you would expect from a police revolver. The bore and action are good and the revolver functions correctly. The butt marking and nickel finish has been removed (See Photo). The ejector rod end has been replaced. I offer a three day non firing inspection period and always want the buyer to be satisfied with their purchase. The gun will be packed correctly and shipped via FedEx Air with insurance to your FFL dealer in the continental United States for $55 (California is extra because I have to ship through my local dealer). This gun requires a C&R or FFL license for transfer. I ship the following day after the payment arrives and provide tracking information.
