Description:
Nice-looking Civil War era Colt Model 1862 Police revolver. The markings are quite legible, the mechanics are excellent and the action is crisp. Lots of rifling in the 4 ½ inch barrel, though looks like that could use a cleaning. Matching serial number 16578 on barrel, frame, trigger guard, backstrap and auger pin would indicate it was made in the first half of 1863. Wedge is an unmarked but period replacement. Used but not abused, the screws are not buggered. Another cool feature is the 5 hash marks scratched in the right grip. Please take a look at all the photos as they provide the best description of condition. Shipping to the lower 48 contiguous states. Three day return privilege, buyer pays return shipping.
