Payment Types Accepted: Money Order, Certified Check Description: This is a very nice example of a scarce Lyman No. 1 Tang Sight for the Colt Lightning Medium Frame Rifle in 32-20, 38-40, or 44-40. I'm not sure if this will fit the Small Frame .22 Caliber Lightning or the Large Frame Model in 40-60, 45-75, and 50 Express. The Lightning was the pump action competitor to the Winchester lever action Models 1873 and 1876. The hole spacing is right at about 1 7/8". It has the early type barber pole knurling on the stem and an oval cut out in the base which I understand to be from the 1880s. The base has a patent date of May 6, 1884 while the base of the stem has what looks like Jan 28, 1879 as the patent. My eyes aren't wha they used to be. It's in Excellent Plus Overall condition with 9% of its original tempered blue remaining. This sight came out of an old collection and is one of the nicest tang sights for a lightning I've ever seen. No disappointments with this one. This would be difficult to improve upon. 12.00 shipping. SOLD Rifle Caliber: .44-40 Winchester |
