Payment Types Accepted: USPS Postal Money Order, Zelle Description: For sale is a hard to find BOUCHER, French over/under 12 gauge shotgun. This shotgun is presumed to be a copy of the shotgun made by the Remmington Company as the Remmington 32. The Boucher has a hooded shroud on top of the barrel which retracts when the breech is opened, and closes when locked up. The mono bloc has cuts on both sides which nestle into matching surfaces and hold the barrels to the action by the sliding hood. After WWII Remington gave the design to a European Corporation. As most collectors and shotgun enthusiasts are aware, the Remington 32 is highly collectable. This Boucher is in as new condition and I believe due to the condition, has not been fired much, if at all. The bores are mirror throughout, and the French walnut stock and forearm are in excellent condition, with no marks, scratches or dents of any kind. The bluing on the barrels and receiver are also pristine as the photos show. The lever is centered and lockup and break are tight. Tang and trigger guard are blued bright. Scroll engraving on receiver, tang, hooded shroud and forearm. The scroll engraving can be described as the Corombelle style of ribbons and flowers with blued finish. Serial number is located on the inside of the trigger guard and forearm. Shroud is engraved Boucher/St. Etienne. A lever on the left side of the receiver controls the ejector mechanism. When parallel to the barrels the ejectors will throw 3-4 feet. When lever is north-south, ejectors will not function. In either case, up or down, trigger pull is crisp. It is my opinion, since I have never fired the gun, the north-south position of the lever is on safe and even though the hammers drop, the gun will not fire. (?) The butt pad is made of a hard clear plastic. All screws are in perfect condition and appear to have never been moved since the gun was made. There is no cast to the stock. Over all length 45”. Barrels are 28 1/4”marked Cannon S Huertier & CIE - St Etienne. Also marked with 18.4 on each barrel, a crown with PT above the crown and three other proof marks on the left side of barrels. This would appear to indicate that the barrels are triple proofed. Receiver is a scalloped edge to meet wood and rib is machined cut with brass front bead. The only mark that I can find on the metal is a 1/16 spot on the right side of the barrel near the forearm, otherwise excellent. The wrist is checkered but not deep engraving. Boucher was listed in the Chamber Syndicale des fabricants d armes dated 1948-1951 (a list of French gunmakers), at 12 rue Jean-Baptiste David. In have only found one other example of Boucher’s being sold, serial number 62117, which was a side by side. Articles on thestate that Boucher was a fine French gunmaker. The Boucher was originally shipped to my C&R, so I will ship to either your C&R FFL or the FFL of your choice.
