Description:
Serial #C431428, .38 Special, 6" barrel with an excellent, bright bore. This is a very interesting revolver, made ca. 1960, but was never stamped with the Model 10 designation within the yoke cut. The metal retains 95-97% of the original blue finish, with some mild silvering at the muzzle, a few tiny scratches on either side of the topstrap, and a few specks of finish loss at the extreme rear of the sideplate. Additionally, there is a moderate turn-ring on the cylinder, and the hammer and trigger retain a large portion of the original color case-hardening, but with some silvering along the edges and bearing surfaces. The diamond-center grips are numbered to the gun on the interior, and are in very good condition with some minor handling marks and mild flattening of the points on either side. The lock-up is tight, and the action functions flawlessly. This is an interesting S&W, with a seldom seen marking error, and is in excellent condition overall. FFL or C&R
