Description:
VERY CLEAN ORIGINAL Winchester 1892 Takedown in 44-40 WCF with a 24" Octagon barrel and a full length magazine tube. This early 1913 manufactured TD rifle has an excellent bore with clean grooves and lands a 9 out of 10 rating. Original sights include a German silver blade front and Winchester sporting rear with marked elevator showing patterned date Feb. 5 1901. Barrel and magazine retain 90% blue with even patina wear from 110 years of existence but well preserved/maintained. Receiver has even patina with blue traces in protective areas as seen by photos attached. Walnut stocks are in fine condition with most original varnish and a rifle style cresent buttplate. Very smooth action and mechanics for a original Winchester 1892 TD rifle that has been used and handled with TLC. GEORGE MADIS states that only 1403 Takedown rifles were produced in model1892s ???? Interesting, look it up. Additional photos on request.
