***SOLD***Sharps & Hankins Model 1862 Navy Carbine, chambered in .52 Rimfire. This rifle is a genuine antique Sharps & Hankins Navy Carbine, of which only about 6,000 were made. This Sharps features a unique sliding-barrel breech loading mechanism, a walnut stock, brass buttplate, and the immediately recognizable leather barrel covering, which was designed to protect the barrel from sea-related corrosion. The rifle is in great functional order, with a fully operable action with strong springs. The bore shows some areas of roughness, as shown. The leather barrel covering is nearly entirely intact, missing only the lower receiver cap portion. Please refer to the photos for overall condition.
