Presented here is an excellent Smith & Wesson Pro Series double action revolver chambered in 9mm. The Smith & Wesson 986 is a Performance Center revolver that is chambered for the highly popular and economical 9mm cartridge. It is hand-cut, hand-fit, and fine-tuned for absolute precision. The gun features a five-inch heavy slab side barrel that is precision crowned for maximum accuracy. The seven-round fluted cylinder is constructed of a highly advanced titanium alloy that helps keep the weight of the revolver down to 34.9 ounces. The 986 is cut for moon clips, which makes shooting an auto cartridge like the 9mm possible in a wheel gun, and also has the advantage of acting like a self- contained speed loader. 9mm cartridges have a short overall length and slide easily into the cylinder, while moon clips keep the rounds together for positive loading and ejection. Also, moon clips have the correct balance and are rigid, allowing just the right amount of cartridge movement to make loading even easier. This particular example has been shot very little and has only light handling and use marks. The 5-inch slab side barrel has a bright bore with strong rifling. The titanium cylinder has light turn rinds and holds 7 cartridges. Sights are an adjustable rear with a Patridge front. The revolver is in overall very good to excellent condition.
