Colt Lightning Saddle Ring Baby Carbine in 44 WCF (44-40). Serial # dates to 1898. Baby Lightning Carbines weigh 1 lb. less than "Regular" Saddle Ring Carbines. Barrel length 20". London proof marks on barrel, Colt records show multiple orders of Colt Lightnings shipped to London England in 1898. Magazine tube w/front clamp has been replaced, looks correct.Everything else is original. Bore is great, I would rate it 8-9 on a scale where 10 is mint. Stock and forearm show well, no damage. Original blueing gone, Rampant Colt Etching on LS of receiver in great shape. Inletting perfect from factory, prominent barrel address and proof marks. Correct sights.
