This Mauser action was manufactured in Czechoslovakia in 1941, the . 0ver “dot” replaced the Czech lion crest on Mauser receivers that were made for the German Army. It is a lightened Mauser action ideally suited for Alpine troops who used a shorter and lighter K98. About 11 million Mauser K98s were made by a multitude of companies. It is estimated that less than 120,000 are in the G.33/40 configuration. This controlled feed action shows the extra machining steps taken to lighten the action. It has been professionally restored and the bolt has been jeweled, the receiver bridges are tapped. The original military markings are present. This action would make a great starting point for a custom rifle built to your specifications.
