Description:
This Highwall is dated 1887 and has its original 28 inch No. 2 octagonal barrel. The action is perfect while portions of the bore near the chamber have erosion or pitting. Major portion of the bore has shiny rifling with some light pitting. The buttstock had been broken at some time, requiring repair of the lower tang as well. This is shown in the photos. Repairs have obscured the last digit of the serial number. Winchester factory records show that six rifles in this serial range were shipped, all in caliber .38-40. The rifle is sound, shoots fine, and has an excellent trigger. Original factory sights. Due to the rifle's size, shipping is $50.
