Description:
The 610 is perhaps one of Smith & Wesson’s more interesting models. The 610 was intended to allow the shooter to have a revolver that could fire the famous 10 mm Auto cartridge using moon clips, similar to how the M1917/Model 22 revolvers shoot the .45 ACP. It was originally introduced in 1990 and manufactured for just that one year. It was reintroduced back in 1998 and made until 2004. In 2009, another short production run ensued. All this time, the 10 mm Auto cartridge was gaining in popularity. As such, there is has been an increasing demand for revolvers chambered in 10 mm Auto to complement the wide variety of semi-auto pistols chambered in the same caliber. Smith & Wesson finally brought the 610 back out in 2019 and it remains in production. The revolver shown here is a current production Model 610-3. It is new in the box and comes with three moon clips. Features included are a 6.5-inch full-lug barrel, .375-inch smooth trigger, .500-inch serrated target hammer, interchangeable blade front sight, and white outline on the rear sight blade. It comes with a nice set of rubber grips to help absorb recoil. The 10 mm Auto has been used for everything from hunting to target shooting. It makes an excellent self defense round as well.
