Description:
This is a nice example of a Springfield Krag Model 1898 Carbine manufactured in 1900. The gun is matching, the receiver is "US" property marked, and there is a visible military cartouche on the left side of the stock - dated 1900. This particular gun is outside the accepted serial range for these carbines, but it does have a properly "C" marked rear sight. It has retained roughly 60% of its finish with the majority of the bluing loss on the barrel band, receiver, and trigger guard. Spotty discoloration on the magazine. Some areas of spotty oxidation here and there, most noticeable on the butt plate. Excellent wood stock with only minor dings here and there. The bore is shiny with great rifling and very minor pin-pricking throughout. Now on GB
