Description:
This is a nice example of a Dreyse Model 1907 manufactured in the early 1900's. The pistol was later re-issued to the RFV, as indicated by the marking on the left side of the frame, "RFV No. 3685". This pantographic style is similar to other RFV marked pistols we've seen. The pistol is all matching and has the proper "Crown N" proofs. Although we had a hard time finding research and other examples of RFV marked Dreyse pistols, it is safe to assume this pistol was re-issued to the Third Reich's Finance Ministry, or a WW1 veteran who had this pistol decided to bring this with him to the RFV when re-stationed. The marking to us appears all original and correct. Regardless, the gun has retained about 92% of its original finish. Most of the wear is on the left side of the muzzle, where there is a small an area of pitting and oxidation. Minor freckling on the grip straps. Comes with slightly worn period-correct grips and one proper magazine. The bore has strong rifling, but there is light freckling here and there. Fully functional and mechanically sound.
