Description:
Here we have a beautiful L. C. Smith Ideal Grade 20 ga SxS in what appears to be all original condition.  This gun was built by Hunter Arms on a "FwNSP" (feather weight frame with a non-selective Hunter-One Trigger and a single sighting plane rib) in 1940.  It is stocked with a nicely grained straight grip walnut stock with desirable dimensions of LOP 14 1/4", DAC 1 1/2" and DAH 2 1/4", The 26" barrels with extractors (only 1224 Ideal Grades had 26" barrels ) have 2 3/4" chambers with bright and shiney bores choked Mod and Full.  Weight is 6.3 lbs.
This gun is in excellent condtion with a rating of 85% original case coloring on action, 90% blue on the barrels and 90% finish on the wood. The straight grip stock and fore arm show very little wear with crisp checkering and a smooth finish.
This L.C. is a grouse/quail hunters delight.  It is nimble and lively to the hand and a pleasure to shoot.
A research letter from the L. S. Smith Collectors Association is available with the purchase.
