This is a hard-to-find and desirable, early 1941 Colt M1911. This, of course, was made before the US entered WW2, so production numbers were comparably very low. This is one of the later examples with an original parkerzied finish. "RS" inspector proof is on the side of the frame and also on top of frame. The slide is correctly numbered to the gun. Proper Colt barrel with a "G" under the barrel. It has retained most of its finish, but there is minor thinning and spotty oxidation on the front strap. Splotchy discoloration on the left side of the slide near the muzzle. Excellent period-correct reddish plastic grips. Comes with one period-correct "S" marked magazine. The bore has good rifling, but there is pin-pricking throughout.
