WOW, MAUSER/KREIGHOF P-08 LUGER, (CODE 42) , CAL. 9MM, SER. 675d, DATED 1940, THIS VERY EARLY "42 HOLSTER QUEEN" IS FITTED WITH THE VERY RARE KREIGHOFF PLASTIC GRIPS. IN 1940 MAUSER WAS UNABLE TO GET WOOD GRIPS. THE NAZIS THEN ORDERED THE MAKER OF PLASTIC GRIPS FOR KREIGHOFF TO SEND BROWN PLASTIC GRIPS TO MAUSER. IT IS REPORTED THAT LESS 2% OF THE 1940 MAUSERS HAD KRIEGHOFF GRIPS. (REF. JAN STILLS BOOK, AXIS LUGERS, PAGE 61). THIS BEAUTY DOES INDEED HAVE AN ORIGINAL PAIR. THE GUN HAS RETAINED ABOUT 97-98% OF THE ORIGINAL FACTORY FINISH. THE LITTLE LOSS IT HAS IS FROM SLIGHT SHARP EDGE SILVERING AND SOME VERY MINOR PIN PRICKS MOSTLY FROM HOLSTER WEAR. THE GRIP STRAPS SHOW NO SIGN OF GRAYING. THERE ARE NO RUST SPOTS, RUB MARKS OR SCRATCHES. ALL PARTS MATCH INCUDING THE MAGAZINE AND HAVE THE PROPER WAFFENAMTS**. THE SLIDE RAILS, BOLT FACE AND FEED RAMP SHOW SLIGHT IF ANY USE. THE BARREL, LIKE THE REST OF THE GUN IS PRISTINE, SUNSHINE BRIGHT WITH RAZOR SHARP RIFLING. IT COMES WITH ONE MAGAZINE SER. # 675d. THIS RARE VARIATION "HOLSTER QUEEN" IS A GREAT FIND FOR EVEN THE MOST CRICTICAL COLLECTOR AND CERTAINLY A COLLECTION CENTERPIECE. INVESTMENT PRICED AT...... $3695 **.
