Description:
Serial #6237, .455 CF, 5 1/2" ribbed barrel with a fine, bright bore that has some spots of very minor freckling within the grooves. The metal of this handsome, small-hinge revolver has retained about 85-90% of the original nickel finish with flaking to the underlying gray-brown metal at the rear of the frame and around the gripstrap. The barrel rib is marked: “THE BRITISH ARMY & NAVY REVOLVER (PATENTED)"; and the left side of the barrel lug is marked: “TRADEMARK / PRYSE’S PATENT"; and “FIRST / QUALITY". The one-piece walnut grip has some light surface wear, a few handling bruises and marks, as well as some mild flattening of the points. The lock-up is still tight and the mechanism is fully functional. This is a fantastic Pryse revolver, in fine condition overall. Antique
