The Browning Superposed is one of the finest over/under shotguns in history and one of John Browning’s most brilliant designs.  Production of the Browning Superposed was done in Belgium, running strong from 1931 through 1977 when traditional production stopped.  We are presenting here a Superposed Grade 1 three-gauge set; 20-gauge, 28 gauge, and .410 bore, all choked SKEET and having the most desirable 28” barrels and field style forearms.  Browning provided these small gauge sets so a shooter could compete in all the gauge events in a typical skeet competition.  Many tournament shooters simply shoot the 12ga. event with their 20ga., and in that situation this set was the same gun for all events in a competitive skeet tournament.  The gun balances at the same point for all 3 sets of barrels so the swing and dynamics are the same for all gauges. This small gauge set, sn55781 V9 was made in 1969.  This was a time when salt-cured stock wood plagued Browning causing rust problems with some of their guns.  Our in-house gunsmithing department has tested this gun’s wood and THE WOOD IS SALT FREE AND IS NOT PART OF THE SALT WOOD DEBACLE.  We have certified this in writing and a LETTER OF GUARANTY goes with the gun at time of sale.  This beautiful Superposed has seen little use in the past 52 years, with all metal finishes scoring 99.5 percent or more of factory blue remaining with no marks or scratches anywhere.  THIS GUN IS ESSENTIALLY A NEW GUN.  IT APPEARS THE 20 GAUGE HAS BEEN SHOT, BUT THE OTHER TWO BARREL SETS SHOW NO WEAR AT ALL.  THERE IS NOT A MARK IN THE WOOD ANYWHERE…AS NEW IN ALL ASPECTS.  The factory wood has some figure both sides, perfect checkering, and 100% factory finish.  The set is housed in the factory supplied Airways style Browning case that is in very good shape with papers and the original keys.  THERE WERE A SCANT FEW 3-GAUGE SETS EVER PRODUCED, MAKING THIS A GREAT INVESTMENT QUALITY GUN THAT WILL INCREASE IN VALUE AS YOU ENJOY ITS USE.  Thanks for looking, and don’t let this one get away!
