Description:
Winchester Model 1873 Saddle Ring Carbine in Caliber 44-40. Standard 20" Barrel, Full tubular magazine, saddle ring, folding non-adjustable rear leaf sight which came on early 73 carbines, and carbine stock with trapdoor (no cleaning rod).
Mostly an even brown gun, wearing to gray in certain areas and darker in protected spots. Some shallow pitting on the receiver and barrel, but the gun has a nice even patina. The mechanics are great with everything working as they should including the dust cover.
The bore is well above average with strong rifling and no rings or bulges.
The buttstock has a crack running from the wrist to the middle of the buttplate on the left side, but has a solid old repair and is stable. Otherwise the wood is in decent shape for an early 73' carbine with normal handling marks.
Overall, a solid early carbine with typical wear characteristic of a life well lived.
Will ship to anywhere in the lower 48 where it's legal to do so. Thank you!
