Description:
Sako L461 .222 Remington Mag caliber bolt action rifle. This custom rifle appears to have been built by a master gunsmith by the name of George Bole. Mr. Bole was a WW2 Vet who worked in the US Army Ordnance Core. After WW2 he was a gunsmith specializing in custom hunting and target rifles. The rifle features a 24-inch varmint weight round blued barrel and a Monte Carlo walnut stock. The barrel is marked "BOLE'S 222 MAG" on the left side. The receiver is marked "L461" on the left. Sako rifles are known for their crisp triggers, well-fitted parts, and honest minute-of-angle accuracy. The rifle is in good condition, showing many handling marks. The bore has strong rifling. The .222 Remington Magnum was created by lengthening the case and shortening the neck of the highly accurate and very popular .222 Remington cartridge. The case capacity is about 20% greater than that of the .222 Remington. .222 Remington
