Description:
Savage Model 720 WWII US Contract Gun chambered in 12 Gauge. The Military procured the 720 to train aerial gunners as trap and skeet were found to be excellent low-cost methods of teaching lead. They were also used for guard duty in areas such as ports and airfields. The left side of the receiver is marked "P/ ordnance bomb/ U.S." in two lines. The 26-inch round barrel is stamped with a "P" and a small ordnance "bomb" stamped between the model designation and the edge of the receiver.
