Description:
Serial #61018, .32-40, 28" part round/part octagon No. 3 barrel with an excellent, bright bore. This is a beautiful rifle that retains practically all of the original blue on the barrel, and a commensurate amount of bright, original color case-hardening on the frame and lever. There are hints of silvering along some of the high and exposed edges, and some thin freckling on the sides of the frame. The walnut forend with schnabel tip, and straight-wrist buttstock with Swiss buttplate are likewise in excellent condition with only some trace handling marks in the original oil finish. The rifle is equipped with a windgauge front sight, a folding mid-range Vernier tang sight, and the barrel sight dovetail is vacant. A 2022-dated Cody data sheet accompanies the rifle which confirms the configuration and lists a shipping date of February 16, 1893, as part of order #14705. This is a superb example of a target-configured High Wall, and would make a great addition to any collection. Antique
