   ***   SOLD   ***   Just in from the Dickson Workshop in Scotland is a handsome Mortimer & Son 12 bore Best Quality boxlock ejector with 29” highly figured Damascus barrels, knockout wood, carved fences, profuse engraving, and a third bite. Mortimer no. 7619 was made in 1904 in Edinburgh. Cased in a canvas and leather VC case with maker’s label. Weighs 6lb 10oz. SPECIAL NOTE: The purchasers of Dickson firearms consigned by the maker to MacNab Fine Firearms receive a full manufacturers provenance letter with details of the original owners.  ***   The highly figured 29” nitro Damascus barrels are chambered and London proofed for 2-1/2” shotshells. They are topped by a raised solid concave tapered gamestyle rib which is inscribed “Mortimer & Son 86 George St. Edinburgh”. The right barrel is bored 0.731 with a constriction of 0.003 for Skeet choke. Minimum wall thickness is 0.023. The left barrel is bored 0.735 and has a constriction of 0.041 for Full choke. Minimum wall thickness is 0.026.   ***   Made of an exquisite piece of highly figured French walnut the straight hand stock and splinter forearm are finished with a beautiful hand rubbed oil finish. The stock has a 1” well figured wood extension that ends in a checkered butt. Forearm is secured with an Anson push-rod opener. Stock dimensions are 15-3/16” over a checkered butt by 1-1/2” by 2-1/16”. Cast off for the righthand shot.   ***   If you have ever shot over a Scottish grouse moor then you already know why you should own and enjoy this double.
