CIVIL WAR SPRINGFIELD U.S. MODEL 1863 RIFLE-MUSKET DATED 1864. 40” rifled .58 cal. barrel. All original with barrel relined professionally as a shooter and skirmish front and rear skirmish sight leafs added. In fine condition and all original otherwise. Lock crisply marked “EAGLE/U.S./SPRINGFIELD” and dated 1864. Extra nice bright metal with crisp edges and superb stock with excellent original Ordnance Inspector’s cartouche. Also has an interesting “ANCHOR” inspector’s stamp on the side panel. Perfect working order and excellent bore. Really nice looking example.
