SN: 15205. Non-import-marked Type 99 Arisaka rifle made by Tokyo Kogyo in the early 1940s (series 33). The 'Mum is clear and completely intact! Receiver, bolt and barrel are in overall good condition with some cleaned surface rust at the safety knob and the rear of the barrel. Wood is in fair shape with handling marks typical of a battle rifle and one repaired split between the buttplate and wrist. Buttplate, trigger guard, floorplate and bottom of wrist have been cleaned of scale and turned a deep brown patina. Action functions correctly including hold-open and safety, and has firm springs and a solid bolt close. Included bayonet bears Toyoda Jidoshoki Seisakusho and Nagoya stamps and is a mid to late-war pattern with a blued finish, no fullers, and a riveted contoured handle on a rectangular pommel. The sheathe/saya has a crack down one side but still slides on and off correctly due to the intact bands. Overall a nice rifle, and you'll likely not find another undamaged 'Mum for the price!
