Our Assessment: Anschütz rifles have a sterling reputation and are loved by enthusiasts for their sturdy construction, classic looks, and high accuracy. On offer here is the 1710 chambered in the ubiquitous .22 LR. Per the consignor, “In 1995 founder Dan Cooper left the company. From 1995 to 1998 the history of the products produced under the trade name of “Cooper Arms” is vague at best. However, during this period there were about 250 Anschutz barreled actions stocked and shipped by cooper. They called the project the “Anschutz USA”. Under this project, Anschutz barreled actions were put into stock manufactured by Cooper. A new trigger guard (designed by Cooper) was used and the actions were glass bedded and barrels free floated. This IS an original Cooper/Anschutz.” This rifle features a floating barrel and checkered walnut stock with a capped pistol grip and ebony capped forend. All of this makes for a powerful varmint or target rifle that is not easy to come by. Casual shooters and collectors alike will desire this rifle, so keep your eyes on the prize, and do not miss out! Please see our photos and good luck!
