Description:
A classic Weatherby over/under and stunningly well built gun, the Orion was manufactured on state of the art machinery in Japan. This excellent example weighs 7lb 3oz and is perfectly balanced on the pin. With deep lustrous blue finishes on the barrel and vented rib, the action is steel with a silver nitride finish adorned with pheasant and duck motifs. A trigger guard and gold washed trigger with selector add to the overall stylish and meaningful look. This shotgun works on the recoil principle and has a very crisp resetting trigger breaking at 3.6 and 4.3lb respectively. The breech face shows no signs of being fired. Furniture for this shotgun has some nice modest grain that exhibits just a few lite handling marks to the finish. Manual safety and an action that closes like a Swiss vault engaging a cross bolt locking lug.
