WAR OF 1812 SPRINGFIELD U.S. MODEL 1795 TYPE II FLINTLOCK MUSKET DATED 1807. 44 ½” smoothbore .69 cal. barrel with “P/EAGLE HEAD” proofs at left breech. Lock and tang of butt plate date stamped “1807”. 100% original and in original flintlock condition and not a reconversion. Lock marked forward of hammer “US/EAGLE/SPRINGFIELD”. Lock with all the original lock parts. Original ramrod. Front swivel missing. Beautiful original dark patina on metal. Stock with the original finish with wear. Partial faint “JS” script Ordnance stamp on side panel. Lock in working order. Very hard to find in this nice original condition.
