EARLY SPRINGFIELD U.S. MODEL 1795 FLINTLOCK MUSKET DATED 1804. All original as shortened to carbine length with 30” barrel. In exceptional condition with the original parts all in fine condition with 1804 dated butt plate tang. Lock with reverse curved “SPRINGFIELD” behind hammer and “EAGLE/SCRIPT U.S.” forward of hammer. Barrel with Springfield proofs at breech. Original swivels. One of the earliest and scarcest of Model 1795 dates.
