EXCELLENT INDIAN WARS SPRINGFIELD U.S. MODEL 1871 ROLLING BLOCK ARMY RIFLE W/ BAYONET & SCABBARD. .50-70 Govt. caliber 36” barrel. Made on royalty agreement with Remington 1871-72 for 10,000 rifles. Best one we have had with fine case hardened lock and the original polish on barrel Stock and forend with all the original finish and crisp “ESA” script Ordnance Inspector Erskin S. Allin cartouche on left wrist. Frame stamped “MODEL 1871” on left side and “EAGLE/U.S./SPRINGFIELD/1872” on right. Rear sight with the original blue. Perfect working order and bright excellent plus bore. All original superior example. Original U.S. marked baronet and scabbard with leather U.S. brass medallion belt attachment.
