INDIAN WARS SPRINGFIELD U.S. MODEL 1879 TRAPDOOR .45-70 CAL. RIFLE. All original and complete in the 125,xxx serial range. Breech block date stamped “1873”. Model 1879 rear sight and Model 1890 sight hood added later. Very good overall with much original blue and stock with the original finish with storage dings. Stock a service period of use arsenal replacement with “X” stamp to rear of trigger guard tang. Perfect working order and very fine bore. Reasonably priced.
