Description:
The Remington Model 788 is a bolt action centerfire rifle made from 1967 to 1983. Although marketed as an inexpensive rifle, they were known to be quite accurate. Utilizing a rear-lugged bolt with nine lugs and only a 60 degree bolt lift on a round receiver with smaller ejection and magazine ports for greater strength and rigidity. The rifle presented here was made in 1977 and has the non-locking bolt feature which allows the bolt to be opened when the safety is engaged. .308 Winchester
