This is the five-shot version of the famous Colt "Cloverleaf" House Revolver, and has matching numbers on the frame and barrel (the cylinder is not numbered). The metal retains 85-90% of the original nickel finish, with some mild bubbling of the nickel along the sides of the frame, as well as some minor flaking to the underlying brass along the high and exposed edges. The cylinder has a mottled gray and plum-brown patina throughout, while the cylinder pin and separate recoil plate have traces of original blue remaining and an overall plum-brown patina. The walnut grips are numbered to the gun on the interior and are in very good-near fine condition, with small handling marks on either side, as well as some moderate wear at the butt on either side. The lock-up is tight, and the action functions flawlessly. Interestingly, the serial number stamped into the butt has a slight error: the last digit ("5") was applied upside down, however the number stamped into the barrel has the digit right-side up. This is a seldom seen five-shot House Model, in very good condition, with a neat factory stamping error, and would make a great addition to any collection.
