Description:
This bayonet fit the Mauser Gewehr 98 & Karabiner 98k which were two of the standard German infantry rifles. The ricasso is marked 42asw on one side and 4610 over n on other side. The non sharpened 9 3/4" (248mm) blade is in good condition with 65% of the blued finish, some pitting on the first 3 inches, no chips and nice tip. The wood handle have no cracks or heavy wear and is a light brown color with a flashguard, the pommel has the double Waffenamt WaA519. The scabbard is coded a matching 4610. It is in fair condition with 85% of its bluing missing with surface oxidation. Shows little wear with small scratches and dents. Frog is worn brown leather with mostly tight stitching. Both the bayonet and the scabbard are marked with the Waffenamt stampings.
