This rifle has all of the early parts such as the uncut operating rod, the short fork, the single slot gas nut and lock bar sights. The leather sling is also dated 1942. The stock has the correct stamps for the serial number and time frame. This rifle shows service use and wear. There is no abuse or damage to this rifle. This rifle functions correctly with no issues. This rifle also has the N 37 stamped on the right side of the stock above the butt plate. From Scott Duff's book on the M1 Garand This rifle seems to have all of the correctly coded parts for this rifle for the time frame and serial number range. These early Garand rifles saw heavy service use and combat loss. Rifles like this are seldom encountered in original service issued condition. This Garand is one of these rifles!
