Description:
PARKER BROS., DH 16 Ga, No. 1 Frame, 28" Damascus Bbls., Choked Full & Full, It was probably used for
waterfowling on the salt marshes. PGC Stock: LOP- 14" Over Original Buttplate; DAC: 1-3/4"---DAH: 3".
Wt. 6 lbs. - 11.2 Oz. This "experienced fowler" underwent the need for a lot of "salt-caused" cosmetic restoration work,
but survived with considerable stock work and buffing of exposed metal. Barrels & Bores Are Excellent and
CHAMBERS MEASURE 2-1/2"
I bought this gun years ago from HOLT's eers in England (so no proof marks as there would be today for Damascus guns).
And, as you can see in my photos, this gun has obviously been buffed on the exterior--most likely to remove salt water damage.
The barrels too- probably suffered saltwater damage, so were "browned" in England, so I had to have them "restored" here in the
states in order to recover the correct Parker black-and-white contrasting color.
The problematic buffing in England, in order to smooth the exterior of the action body for recasehardening, created the loss of
crispness in the engraving--which should have been picked up afterward. I will be happy to send more photos by request !
