Description:
Price reduced! From grand dad's collection, here is an 1873 mfg.1885,in 38-40 cal.. In very nice condition with VG bore and wood. One exception is the bullet damage as seen on the right side of the butt stock. The story has it that this rifle was carried by a soldier fighting in the Apache indian wars in New Mexico. And a bullet fired from an indian rifle struck the stock at a glancing blow deflecting up in to the soldier's side and it is presumed it was fatal. The rifle has a rarely seen loop and bead brass front sight. It shoots well and is accurate. [the dark streaks on the but stock are  shadows from the plant next to it.]
